- Intro to SA diving in KZN ...
The southern most tropical reefs in the world can be found along the Kwazulu – Natal coastline. Diving conditions vary greatly, with water temperatures in excess of 20 degrees and, particularly in winter visibility ranging from 10 to 40 meters. The best time to dive this coast is from April to September. Although the reefs are well off shore and can be accessed by boat only, snorkelling is possible in certain areas from the shore. All launches are off the beach, through the surf offering an exhilarating experience. Drift diving is the norm due to strong currents flowing over the reefs.

Greatest shoal on earth – Sardine run
Visible by satellite, the Sardine Run is a unique feature of nature and should be on every underwater dweller’s list. The largest sardine shoals on earth migrate up the east coast of South Africa in mind blowing numbers between May and July. The sheer numbers create a feeding frenzy among schools of dolphins, sharks, whales, game fish and birds.
